Investing?
Curious if anyone has had any luck investing with merchants yet? I'd like to know how this system works.

How do you even invest in shops? is there a perk of some kind that allows you to? because the "invest" button is greyed out for me.

You can invest in merchants with the Cap Collecter R3, its under Charisma. I've not invested into that skill so I can't add anything in that regard :/

Thanks. This makes sense. Looks like this requires level 41.

It gives them 500 more caps to work with than what they usually have, and increases their inventory pool. It seems as if shops are divided into 4 tiers. Investing increases that tier by 1. So a T3 weapons shop at a settlement that you invest in (Arturo in Diamond City is also a T3 vendor) will have the best selection of arms and ammunition in the game.

Not sure how invested you guys are into the minutemen, but when you get their stronghold back up and running you'll get a vendor there with .50cals and all sorts of end tier stuff, not sure if thats T4 but just thought I'd mention it.

.50 cal is not end tier by any means. Energy weapons and the .44 mag are king of this game.

I believe its the final sniper rifle tier, and the .44 is stupidly op and you get it in the first 5 hours of gameplay, not really a fair judge for the rest of the game.

Gauss Rifle is the final sniper tier. Coming in at 544 damage.

I'm not joking. The .44, Laser/Plasma rifles, Gatling Laser, and Gauss rifle are the end game solutions to killing stuff. And of course the missile launcher and fat man, but those are situatuational. That's why I chose the BOS... more of a tactical decision to make sure I'm always locked and loaded.

I didn't think you were joking, I just haven't found one yet. Same with the Gatling Laser.

They start popping up around the level 30 mark.

I'm level 42 lol, I play it pretty slow. Any specific spots? My main mission is hunting Virgil, but I don't think I'll do that for a bit. I mainly do side missions upgrade settlements and explore XD.
