How to get tons of caps and junk/resources
I've been playing Fallout 4 for a while now and found a way to make tons of caps and junk. It is really simple so I thought there has to be a video about this on Youtube, but to my surprise I could not find any (only tens of videos about the recently found shop glitch).

So I thought I'll make a video of my own:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fhBOan_z2Q

The method is really basic and easy. You may have noticed that in your settlements your farms and water pumps make resources to your workshop inventory. This means the more water pumps you have, the more purified water you will be making.

The setup I show in the video is making around 500-600 purified water every 2-3 in game days. When added together they have value around 5000 caps with my Charisma of 6.

Using the purified water you can trade all the junk vendors have and use that junk to make even more water pumps. This scales pretty fast and if you really go for farming it you will end up making tons of caps and resources to build pretty much anything you want to.

Hope you found this tip useful, check out the video for more detailed explanation!

You can take that water and trade it for Supply Orders in Diamond City or some roaming traders. it's legit, if heavy. Better to trade for a Supply Order - Copper than to try and find 100 hotplates.

You don't have to do it all at one location. Sanctuary is a prime sight to have more than 1 water purifier, and that little puddle in Starlight is begging for one too. Considering how easy it is to have a couple small pumps in other camps, you may as well do something with the excess.

Settlement networks is a REALLY powerful CHA tool for playing. I'm honestly stunned at how powerful the CHA tree is (along with Lone Wanderer and Attack Dog not being mutually exclusive).

Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. I kind of feel like I destroyed my own gameplay experience by doing this to this extend to be honest. That's why I said I don't really recommend farming for the water, but if anyone wants to do that then it is up to them. :)

lol, and then you have shops that give you pathetic 50caps/2 days.

This is a very nice find and I'm definitely doing this on my next playthrough. I'm going to fill the river near sanctuary with water purifiers.

Also you didn't hit the size limit of settlement or was this done with this mod?

Well, I find it a great idea. Very real life like. I would do the same in this situation. Building a water farm at the best spot that can ensure that every settlement in this area has enough water. Also maybe 1 farm for vegetables, 1 cattle breeding etc.

No mods in my game yet. :) I'm playing vanilla until the GECK for Fallout 4 comes out.

Yeah, I would also do that. In the radiated wasteland pure water would be really the resource you could not have too much, so in real life this would be pretty smart thing to do.

But this can really end up killing the fun in your game if you start just sleeping and farming for it... But then again, nobody is forcing you to play like that. You could just build a few of these in different settlements and wander around, explore the world and go get the water every now and then. That is really the way I enjoy playing the game at least.
