Lighting Exterior Areas?
Anyone have tips on how to light an area in a settlement, such as a security checkpoint (defenses at an entrance to the settlement) in the outside? I can't imagine most of the options are all that useful.

things get power by been near a conduit, so set up maybe 15 power worth of genorators and link them all to a large pylon, each conduit has an area of effect once a wire is connected.
if something doesnt light, put a conduit near it and attach a wire from a pylon/genorator

I'm aware of that. I wish I could build spotlights or something. The construction light I built is not useful.

if you're still looking for suggestions this late. i've been looking into this too today, there's a few mods i've found to be semi useful if you're not opposed to mods this i kind of found useful. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2513/? it increases the area of spot lights and improves the shadows they cast. and http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1478/? adds some new lights that may be useful. however if you have some suggestions i'd appreciate it as well.

There's a spotlight in the turrets tab. You can also get a wall mounted one if you have Automatron.
