MAJOR gamebreaking glitch ARCJET testing lab
So after entering the arcjet testing lab I found a way to jump over a bridge into a debris pile and climb over it to an area that apparently I wasn't supposed to access. However, It was extreamly noticeable and I have seen several people posting not being able to get out of this area because a door needed to be opened on another side. So I reloaded a save and carried on, I found a way around to that area and opened that door, when I did a random quests started with the paladin, and said I had to follow him with a bunch of synths spawning. I follow him down into the launch area (another loading screen), and couldn't get out of the area without no clipping due to it locking me out, the elevators not working and my dog being stuck. After finally getting out, I am unable to access that area anymore and all my companions assume that I'm in the launch area (Which i'm not), all can somehow access the elevator to it and they are all gone. I have no saves to load and would have to restart.

same thing happened to me and I have no clue how to fix it.
Also, Paladin Danse stays down in the rocket launch room and will not allow me to talk to him to do any more quests for the BoS.

type tcl in the console and walk out. Problem solved

I used tcl to walk out, but now I cant continue with the BoS storyline, or have a follower.

So basically you only had one save, and overwrote it after you suffered a horrific glitch. Well you can probably fix this problem thought the console. That said let this be a lesson for you. When it comes to Bethesda games manually save every couple of hours, and have multiple saves that way you will almost never get stuck.

there is a similar big in Trinity Tower, when you use the "elevator thing" outside the building, you need to wait for your companion, because he/she won't automatically respawn on elevator, it will try to catch up with you and run into an area where no door can be opened

This is several years late, but I've found the solution.

It's the invisible helper quest "DN017_Overrides" (ID:0001D7FD), which is supposed to run temporarily during the BoS quest "Call to Arms", that sends Danse, Dogmeat, and whichever companion you have into the Arcjet rocket control chamber.

Open the console (via the tilde key on US keyboards, various other keys on others) and enter the command:

StopQuest DN017_Overrides

That restores the companion AI to normal.

Thank you, this finally fixed my companions. In Fallout 4 VR, I tried teleporting through the window in the ArcJet lobby because it didn't stop me. I haven't had companions sense then.
