Can my computer run Fallout 4?
Good day to you gamers, if you are very good with pc specs, then can you please take some time to help me answer the question. I've checked the minimum specs of the game and compared them to my computer.

These are the minimum specs of the game (to save you some time)...

Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz/AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz or equivalent
8 GB RAM
30 GB free HDD space
NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent

And these are the recommended specs...

Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
Intel Core i7 4790 3.6 GHz/AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz or equivalent
8 GB RAM
30 GB free HDD space
NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB/AMD Radeon R9 290X 4GB or equivalent

My computer specs...
Windows 10 (64-bit)
AMD Phenom(tm) X4 925 processor 2.8 GHz (Quad Core)
8 GB DDR3 RAM (Brand Corsair)
XFX R7800 w/Ghost Thermal Technology
Also to note: I have fan cooling not liquid cooling, and i have an SSD drive.

So based on my specs, I'm just barely reaching minimum specs. As much as I want to play this game, I want to make sure if this game could possibly run decently so I don't have to go scrounging money for upgraded parts.

If you have any questions about more details for computer parts, I'll answer them to the best of my abilities. I did not build this PC, my uncle did.

Hey your processor is just below minimum and card right at it. I've been lurking here to see how true recommended specs are, here's what I've observed the game at this early stage can have issues on any system be prepared for troubleshooting if so and some players with lower specs then minimum are posting they can play, some even on high

You know your system if it's gaming well then you should be fine just be prepared to tweak if necessary

So I should just buy the game and see what happens?

It's really up to you but I'm waiting the possible problems with the game will take time to work out.

I guess thats a good idea. I appreciate it

Now that Steam does refunds, as long as you buy the game, test it out straightaway, and don't play for more than 2 hrs, you can always get your money back if your system flat can't handle it.

However, I sorta think you will be able to run it. Not at ultra, but I think you can get decent performance. They overstated the minimum specs by quite a bit.

So the minimum specs provided isn't completely 100% true?

Cool find I do want to point out the i3 3220 is a better CPU http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i3-3220-vs-AMD-Phenom-II-X4-925 so it is possible you could have lowered performace

That's correct.
My laptop is a Dell Precision M3800 (look it up, too lazy to write specs) and it runs the game fluently on low and 720p. Taking into account that some game perf sites said my gpu is 560% worse than the recommended one I'd say it worked out pretty well and bethesda seriously overstated.

It was the same with Mad Max and pCars. With Mad Max I had a huge discrepancy as in I could play the game on high even though my system was waaaay below minimum (not recommended) specs.

If you're a fan of the series and have the money just buy it. if for some unknown reason it doesn't work for you just ask for a refund.

Sorry harder call. Is this a laptop or desktop? I'm guessing desktop since you posted mobo info but the card is typically bundled with amd laptop APU. http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-8650G.87916.0.html

Now I have seen before amd basically put a laptop motherboard into a tower what's hard for me to know is if there is any added tweaking like for example the laptop version integrated video chip doesn't have dedicated memory. This is very important for gaming. And I'm assuming if a desktop it doesn't have a card slot to add a dedicated card but worth checking. APUs aren't great at gaming but add a proper card and you can have more options

Sorry I'm leaning towards you are probably right to think it may be too weak. What I can say is wait some more and see if on YouTube or twitch more folks posting game play with lower systems but again I do want to caution it's still pretty grim for you, sorry

It's a laptop. Toshiba Satellite I70D-a. Looking at the specs on this website, i think, nails the head on the 'can't play' coffin. http://remisaneuf.ca/article.asp?noid=4984&categ=&langue=e or whatever the expression is.

You really should be concerned at that 91c cpu temp. Thats getting dangerously high, at the very least make sure there is no dust clogging up your exhaust.
