How do I assign a Local Leader?
I have the perk rank 2 but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to connect my settlement supply lines. Any information is appreciated.

Just go into settlement build mode, then highlight one of your settlers and press "Q" (I think) to assign him to do supply runs to/from another settlement. You see what button to press at the bottom, when you highlight someone.

Now I see. I was clicking on the settler and then looking at the bottom, but the supply line option is available when you highlight them. Thanks a lot. Now I feel silly for missing that.

I am a little confused how it works though. I sent someone to my main settlement, so does that mean I'll be able to start building with those materials the moment they reach that settlement, or are they going to take materials and bring them back?

I'm not there yet but from what I've read, I think it's instantaneous. When you assign a supply line you can immediately share items in the workshop inventory.

It's instant, but....

The inventories only share when you're building and crafting. NOT when you're looking in them. So if you are in Sanctuary, and you want to put those circuits from Red Rocket in your inventory, you're going to have to go to Red Rocket to get them.

I can confirm this. I only had enough mats in Abernathy Farm to build one turret. So I went to Sanctuary and set up a route to Abernathy Farm. I fast traveled back to the farm, and even though there still wasn't much in the workshop inventory, when I went to build more turrets, it showed that I had loads of stuff.

Thanks. That clears up a lot. Also, I've been sending settlers from other places to Sanctuary, but the individual settlements still list the settler as still being there, even though they aren't actually there. In fact, I haven't found them in Sanctuary either, so I'm hoping they didn't go out and die on the road somewhere.

NP. ;)

Not sure about that one. I do know they have to walk all the way there. Not sure if they can get killed on the way, or not.

How did you send them from one settlement to another?

When you click on them in Workshop mode, click Go and then select which settlement they go to.

Ha! Thx.

I never clicked that, because I thought it would make them go to another point on the screen, like Dogmeat.

You also use that command to assign people to gather crops, water, etc. Planting isn't enough - you have to assign people to harvest the crops.

I've sent a couple settlers so far. They have to physically walk there....slowly. And they are bad about negotiating defense.

For example I sent one from Sanctuary to Sunshine. I have a fairly extensive wall around Sunshine. I fast traveled there, waited 8 hours...then found her meandering around the wall and trying to squeeze through cracks before moving on.

I'm not sure if they can die in transit. I hope they can.

I have done that, so I guess I have clicked "Go" before, lol.

But IIRC, I clicked Go, and then walked to the plant, and clicked assign. I never saw a list of settlements to send them to. Maybe I just missed it?
