player.addperk - HELP

Hello. I am trying to give myself perks and it works, visually..

When I do player.addperk 0016578e ( Gun Slinger) for example. It says I am level 4 in the perk chart, but when I try to upgrade a gun that requires it, then it doesn't work.

It only works visually, but the game doesn't know I am level 4.

Can anyone help me? How do I make it work properly?

I had this problem earlier.

First search for the desired perk, then in decending order, remove all levels of that perk to start over. Once at a clean slate, add.perk in the order the perks show up on the list, these will be the codes in the levels order. This should add all levels of the perk to you.

I have had problem with the mellee weapon damage perk though, as in adding the last level somehow removes all the bonuses of the perk, so when adding levels of the perk, just make sure you have the desired bonus as sometimes it will glitch and it won't work.

Is it something to do with the perk restrictions? I set mine with no restrictions first so that I can max out what I want. Then I added a couple of maxed out perks that either annoy my fun (hacking), or i'd never waste a good upgrade on (V.A.N.S).

They all worked perfectly. Perhaps if you are below the level requirement for the perk it wont work.

Some perks work below your current level I know this from testing, as to what perks work with what levels above your current, I am not sure of

You have to add all levels of the perk, not just the top one. You may also need to add all prerequisites of the perk - i.e. have the stat high enough, and be of a sufficient level. I don't really do this sort of thing, just passing along what I've read elsewhere.
