Yeah buddy I love shooting mega death raider from Hell in the head 400 times
Balances our at higher level but yeah. Around level 30, playing on survival.
im playing on normal. not because im new but because i want to play a singleplayer game to relax. i dont need the stress to shoot the weakest raider 50 times in the head just to grab 10 exp and 10 bullets from his corpse. its not like you achieve anything when playing it on survival
With a bit of juking I could also beat that Deathclaw(although that was legit a hard battle) but being able to take on a Deathclaw at level 2 regardless of if I had power armor or not is a bit disappointing
How can you guys even stand playing easier modes?
Besides lol, in higher difficulties weak mobs are still weak, there's just more variance in strength of the enemy.
Is very hard...very hard?
Survival mode addresses the last question and turns the tables on you. Now the player is the one who goes down from one bullet, and monsters become bullet sponges that take lots and lots of hits to die. It can be played sure, just like hard and very hard, they are not "too hard", but they are less fun depending on your approach to the game. More stressing like. I sure don't like to see my well placed, sneak attack, sniper .50 bullet hit the target between the eyes and barely scratch them.
Survival mode was presented as a mode where enemies did more damage, but the player too. This is not completely true. Enemies do x 2 damage. The player still does x 0.5 damage. With the adrenaline perk you do more damage, but even at maximum 50%, you only reach x 1 (i.e. normal) damage. However there seems to be a hidden factor. X 2 monster damage doesn't quite explain enemies one-shotting you. There must be some sort of critical hit by the monster.
If you want to get a feel for the game first, do some building, meet some enemies, start on normal. When the game gets too easy, sooner rather than later, switch to very hard. Then you will realise you might as well go for survival.
You can make different characters, experiment, play them until they reach level 20 in any mode. Then make your decision with which one to continue. All your characters will be saved as long as you give them different names.
