im finding it hard to believe that they didnt add in a job menu to keep track of the settlers like they did in the fallout shelter app... someone's gonna have to mod it in sometime

Have you tried crafting a town bell?
I believe if you ring it, it will gather all nearby settlers to the bell.

See if that helps you locate your missing townie.

i wish they mad a colorcode so your seeing on the map whos assigned to which spot crops defence etc and who not. build a bell near the spot wou want a settler to do something and ring bell all will come and wait for you commanding them in building mode to be assigned to defence gardening shopselling etc or as local villagemanager if you have the perk. hope it helps-

the problem with this is that it stops EVERYONE just to find one or two settlers.

would have been better to add them colorcoded active passive defence gardening etc and make them viewable on the map and selectable single .

It might be inefficient, yeah. But at least you could maybe find your missing settler.
Why not quicksave, ring the bell, see where they come from.
Reload then head in that direction to look.

It's a bit cheaty - but desperate times?

you know you can scrap the bell afterwards as well ! but if you make bells at every village hotspot you can in case a raider attack starts call them immediately to that point your fantasy is the limit for its use. i have to find out if givin them good weapons lets them use it or not as well armor crafted??

Hmmm I think I found the problem. Just found that I can assign work to Codsworth just like any other settler.. But I dont understand why the number of population increased since Cod was there long before that :S

Yes I have surplus beds, food and water. The whole settlement things is very hard to understand for me. For example I know a worker can be assigned to up to 7 plants, but only 1 scavenging station, store or guard post :S

true and i havent found out where i see whom is doin which job afterwards i wish they had colorcoded it somehow in the ui so your have it on map. i know you can add stores for each source to sell em but i havent gone so far yet!

One thing that can help is if you hover over a settler in build mode whatever they're assigned to will also highlight. Helps if they're standing close to whatever you've assigned, not so much if they're all the way across town.

It would be nice if we could rename the generic Settler's to help keep them straight. I've taken to giving them specific clothing and hats based on what job I've assigned which helps some but not when a new settler shows up already wearing one of my outfit choices.
