AMD graphics fix (fps/crossfire)
-Go in your catalyst software
-click add new profile
-select fallout.exe
-override tessellation settings
-set tessellation to x8
-set crossfire mode to optimize 1x1
-save
-launch fallout 4
-go into settings then uncheck windowed mode (crossfire only works in fullscreen no exception)
-then click advanced options
-set god rays to low
-uncheck screen space reflections
-click ok

Launch game and things should run smooth, if looks weird then exit to desktop and launch again. I hope this works for you

Anybody try this yet?
BRoh Nov 12, 2015 @ 2:57am
No, did start the game with crossfire enabled with everything on ultra but got image flichering in the perks menu,
so now for Fallout 4, untill AMD get around with driver update I've turned off crossfire, its running fps 60 to dips to 45 on a single card, still with ultra setting.

i dont know much about crossfire but fallout 4 doesnt play well with sli cards. i was having issues with fps when i had my sli enabled. i disabled it and now the game runs perfectly.

Well i assume you have nvidia cards if youre reffering to sli, this is for amd cards in crossfire through catalyst, and it worked perfect for me

I have the lastest Beta drivers, I have 2 HD 6970 and an I7 2600. I have a utility program that monitors the cards. I can not get the second card to turn on. I'm getting above around 50 fps in doors and 20-30 outdoors, which is completely playable. I have everything set to high. I wonder how can I get the second card to work? I've done everything here. still it does not turn on. I went to Fall out NV, and sure enough the second card kicks on.

If you are trying to get better FPS without sacrificing much visual quality then turn off Anti-Aliasing and turn tesselation down to 4X. I personally am using the non-beta drivers and seem to be getting better performance with those. AMD should release beta drivers optimized for Fallout 4 here soon. I have 2 R9 290's and am about to try out crossfire with the game and I'll report back with how it goes.

Hope the crossfire works for you, using the custom settings i posted, my second 290x kicked on and am getting 70-80 fps outside and 110-120. But hopefully they do release drivers soon... was disappointed with amds response to this game seeing as gtav drivers were out around the time of release. But you also have to remember is only been 3 days since release and fallout 4 is tailored to nvidia gpus so it might take some time to optimize.

AMD must not have gotten an early copy of the game to begin work on the drivers which is unfortunate. The settings you gave actually seemed to decrease performance in my case. I will have to do more testing. What processor are you using? I am using an FX-9590.
