Brotherhood of steel major bug/problem! Solutions?

In the quest show no mercy the game is not allowing me to board the vertibird to continue the story. any suggestions to fix this?

fast travel to the fort strong, will force the story to progress.

there is a vertibird on the ground under the airship
use the one on the airship to travel down to it then run outside the airport towards the sound of a powered up vertibird

So... I didn't fix the problem or anything but I ran around the base for a few time, I jumped from the airship down to the base and that didn't kill me... went in and out the airship for 20 minutes, came back to the vertibird on the airship and I'm able to board the thing...

if you're talking about the missions from those two cucks at the police station, those are infinite.. they just repeat over and over, you need to progress in the main storyline a bit before you can continue the actual brotherhood quests

Thanks, that explains it. Been avoiding the main quest like a plauge. I still have never done the main quest in New Vegas or Skyrim, just a wierd problem I have

Had the same problem last night, fast travelled back to Sanctuary and then back. Then I was able to board the chopper

Even when you just run to the fort it glitches out your companion ai and from then on you can't use companions and the rest of the main story quests end up broken. no matter how you do the mission it will always mess up the whole game forcing you to start a new game entirely.
