Weapon Glitch, No Damage
Uh yeah, thats my issue. I fire my weapon, whatever weapon it is at an enemy or anyone/anything that can take health damage and the round/laser/missile/etc... goes straight through the target leaving them unaffected. I can only deal melee damage at this point...:steamfacepalm:

I have the same problem. Environmental damage, like fire, also still deals damage. Just damage from my guns doesn't seem to work any longer.

I tried restarting the game several times last night to no avail, but this morning when I woke up and started it after a cold boot after being off all night it started working again. So for all those reading who have this issue, I solved it by restarting my computer. Closing and restarting the game might work as well.

Restarting the game fixed it for me.

I had the same problem. Sometimes it was fixed by simply changing to another weapon, and back again.

as far as im aware, it's a glitch caused by attempting to pacify entities, try saving and quitting to title

i just recently ran into this glitch, once it happened when i did some console commands like deleting an object, and it happened again, hmn, now i'm thinking that might be the very reason, but the command i used this time was a tcl because some stupid landmine was causing CTD when i shot it, so i had to get passed it without it blowing up using the console command TCL.

i'm thinking it has something to do with console commands somehow, but it seems to go away for a little while and then come back at random, so i just don't understand why it does this, i also have another issue in the swamp area of the map, it could be the cause of a mod, but when i kill an NPC they kind of float away as if the gravity stopped working, it's both funny and concerning, not sure what causes that or if it's related.

... If you're shooting at things while in ghost mode, ... and moving past things that you could just as easily shoot from a distance and get by once it's blown up, the cause of your problems seems to be between keyboard and chair.

not sure i understand the context of your comment, i have read this more than a few times and i still don't understand what you mean? please explain.

Well, when I read it, I can only think of one thing that's between the keyboard and chair. So my guess would be it's another way of saying the problem is you. But, I didn't write it and can't possibly be sure if that's what was being communicated or not. Just offering what I thought of when I read it. I mean, isn't the only thing "between keyboard and chair" the person playing?

The TCL command means you are a 'ghost'.

This may cause a lot of weird issues while you're playing, and it's not uncommon, and not unheard of, for people to actively forget they're in ghost mode while playing. and then wondering why things aren't responding correctly.

Also there is the chance that while clipping through the map, you activated triggers that needed other things and broke your save.

And yes, "pebkac" does mean, this is a you thing. Messing with the console when you aren't sure of what you're doing, is 100% on the player.

well if that's the context, i mean assuming if this is, my only response to this is that i admitted to using console commands and ran into this issue, however i don't definitively know for sure why this issue happens as some times it goes away and at other times it seems to come back, but i left in the comment on console commands because i thought it might be related.

all i can say is back when i played a lot of skyrim, i never ran into such weird issues when using console commands as i have in this game, so typically i don't use them, but maybe it's a known issue within the engine that i have never ran into but the whole reason why i correlate the CC is because it is often when i run into such weird glitches, so it might be related, i don't truly know for sure, it's just an assumption based on correlation of circumstance on my part.

if it's a me problem, well that doesn't exactly help me in figuring out how to solve the problem so his comment if this is indeed his context, he's not really helping anyone by leaving such a comment.

ok this helps me understand better, thanks for clarifying and not just making a snarky comment for the sake of being edgy because for some reason that was important?

now i understand the context fully, so i didn't know this game had weird triggers that could possibly exist when you clip out of the map, my only experience prior to this was in skyrim and i never ran into such issues as i have in this game, i will admit i assumed since it's the same engine mostly anyway that i thought it would be roughly the same and function the same way, but i know it's a slightly diffrent game, but mostly the same as any other creation engine made game lol.

and your right it is easy to forget about leaving on a command and then turning it off later, but i only speak from experience from their prior game skyrim when i had used console commands and never ran into such weird issues, but i also don't claim to fully understand everything in this engine.

but perhaps we found the true culprit to this issue, that being the use of console commands, which admittedly is messed up and sucks because sometimes using these commands is the only way to solve some issues that can't as easily be pointed out or fixed, i mean we are dealing with the most buggy game engine to exist and we mod the ever living hell out of it, i think it's pretty much self explanatory we are always going to run into issues no matter what with this engine even when playing the game with no mods we run into issues.
