This is RPG gone wrong. Simple as that.
If BUGTHESDA tried so hard to give the players the disease, they should at least count in the facts and fictional realities of the armor types you are wearing:
You don't get diseases, wearing Hazmat suits or Powerarmor. And you don't get diseases, if you companion gets them. That is the same ♥♥♥♥ like drowning in an space suit, hazmat suit or Power Armor under water in New Vagas. I hated that, too. But there was OBSIDIAN to blame for.
But it's the same principle. If you want to do roleplaying, don't punish the players, that are planning ahead!
This is a bug, nothing else. Yes, a bug.
I can life with a disease as roleplayer, if I was not careful, but I would be furious, if I contract a disease, AFTER being careful!
I will defintly install a bugfix, called "mod" for this, after I buy the game. Later, as GotY edition.
For most players isn't the -10HP the problem, but the debuff sign which you will never loose without using a mod or a cheat.
It isn't so easy, because the game designer who made this quests wanted so badly that you get this disease, that it didn't hesitate to cheat.
Example: Even if you use the protectoron and this robot is bitten by the molerats in another room, you get the disease.
There is a good guide for avoiding the disease.

This is one of the reasons I expect a huge update to Fallout 4 still some time. Not to mention the VR update that is for sure coming. I fully expect a huge Nuka World update to, because the suck of Nuka World was to great even for a nerfed DLC.
For anyone who doesnt know all of this is coming from a player that thinks Fallout 4 is easily in the top 3 games of the year, maybe game of the year.
Just play the game, and suck it up...........
Beth didnt apoint any forum mods and steam mods only show up if thing go very very bad so i doubt it
Just unsubscribe from the discussion.
However it is posible that a person could find that place early in the game and really need that 10 pionts.
Im ticked because I never got any warning. I was forced to make a choice without having all the info. I mean who would have thought 1 disease in the whole game, uncurable at that.
Ok enough of my rant good night all.
You will always know in the back of your mind that your playthrew was not legit because you cheated. It's a shame too because FO4 is isn't even among the hardest games out there and even has an easy difficulty.
Oh, rats.
Bethesda rely on the community to fix their games. Always have, always will. Look at the unofficial patches for their last few games - Thousands of fixes for issues - Some of which are engine based and have been fixed for every game since Oblivion. They fix the worst culprits and to hell with the rest.
VR is NOT an update. F4 VR is a seperate game you will have to buy. It isn't a DLC, it certainly isn't a free update.
Nuka World getting an update? You're dreaming. The Season Pass doubled in price so we could get that.
Or of course there's the 'okay I'll give you the cure' *opens pipboy and uses cure right after, austin still gets better* option.
I mean it's an oversight that you have enough time to use it before they take it from you but, that's what they get for leaving out the 'let's split this and see what happens' option. I don't care if they think it's one dose. Austins a tiny kid he can't need a whole adult dose
