I got the molerat disease. How can I cure it?
I'm wondering if I got it during a certain quest involving mole rats, which I shall not name here.

I wonder if I may have gotten the disease by (selflessly) giving away the vaccine?

Is there a way to cure it or cure diseases in general? Thanks!

You can only cure yourself if you were selfish and didnt give the cure away. You get the disease by being hit by the mole rats (and sometimes from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nothing -.-) If you are VERY VERY careful you can give away the cure and not have the disease.

I highly recommend doing the molerat mission absolutely ALONE.

To not get the disease, you must NOT get hit by any molerat. While that seems easy enough, they were cruel enough to make it so you ALSO get the disease if your companion gets hit. And to top that off, if you use the droid in the mission, you also get the disease if HE gets hit.

That is so stupid. But I suppose it's as if they really want you to get the disease, so you need to make the choice. I remember there was a dialogue option to split the vaccine -- does anyone know what the outcome of that is? (According to Dark Bum™ you could only cure yourself if you don't give the cure away, but I wonder what would have happened?)

This game might be fun to replay. There seem to be a lot of choices to make. I like that they don't define it as "good" or "bad" "karma" -- it's more interesting when choices are more ambiguous than that.

I followed the same quest, and ran into the same issue! I guess i'll have to reload and try not to get hit, good thing i save a lot!

And I also was curious as to the outcome of "splitting it", i can tell you the doctor just gets mad at you and tells you it won't work that way haha...

if you try to split the vaccine the doctor will just tell you it doenst work like that

2 ways. 1 is open the console and add the cure with player.additem 00055F10 1 . OR go at shimmering sea and take a LOAD of radiation until it cures out (i cant confirm this works but others said it worked for them)

The entire mission is stacked against you to make sure you have almost NO chance of getting through without getting hit - If your companions are hit, you get it.

Even with godmode on, you will get it. As Daron mentions, the only confirmed way is to spawn a second cute syringe after you've handed the first one to the doc. Use it...wait a few seconds for it to wear out, and you're cured.

how can i see if i have the disease or not? I gave avay the cure and didn't even think about probability of getting sick.

Go to your pipboy's health screen - The one where you can see your limb health, and use stimpacks.

If you can see a pill shaped icon in the top-left (or your health is 10 points lower than your max health would indicate, while your health bar is filled) - Congratulations! You've got Fallout AIDS!

Go to status, press q i think. You should see an icon on top left next to player like anything else.

Does not appear to me as a problem of the day. It's just -10 HP. Does not even matter on Survival.

Cook some food that cures all diseases. One of them does.

Really? That's interesting.

Thats what it says.. Although I have not gotten to this mission you speak of, so maybe it doesnt work on this. But its worth a shot. I forget what the food is called, but it says it cures all diseases and gets rid of rad poisoning or something
