Has anyone done the dutchman quest?

The blue bin isn't much of a secret, It's in the blue train car near the dutchman. There is a blue barrel with a white sun shaped symbol next to it. There is a small cache in the barrel. I have no idea what the rest of the storyline is.

I think I've figured this out. You find the note on the body of the Dutchman, which is located at Bedford Station. This is the switching station - where trains switch lines

If you look directly East from the white building near the Dutchman's body, you will find the body of the courier who was to meet the Dutchman. There is a similar note on the couriers body. The courier's body is slumped against the base of the water tower.

Further details are revealed when you play the holotape in the Station Master's terminal (upstairs in the building next to the Dutchman's corpse). There was a third person at the rendezvous whom the Dutchman calls "A9". I didn't find another corpse, so I think it's implied that he escapes the carnage. What that leads to, I don't know yet.

There's a terminal there that lets you turn off on the search lights, not sure why that would be available unless there is something to happen. perhaps there is a quest, but only if you've gotten the entry point to it somewhere else.

I'm thinking it's The Railroad - smuggling the synth 'A9' to safety. I'm guessing A9 was the 'package'.

It is what expectprate said. sadly its not even like a side quest it's just a look into the commonwealth and the warring "factions"

It is.That is why the note hints towards a Cache.And why the guy had a synth name.Also why they only cared about A9 and not themselves.Maybe somewhere in the wastelands you can Find A9 hiding in fear.

Yeah, there is a level limit because it was not there when I was there at 13th level. The ammo was and it did unlock the ammo from the vendors.

i found a guy like a some time later later wandering around in a institute jumper asking for directions to bunkerhill called timothy, killed him, found a synth component. between skylanes and bedford station, closer to bedford station.
