Distress signal south of oberland station, possible spoiler?

I picked up a distress signal south of oberland station of a woman saying she is trapped in a traincar with her child then they are attacked and the message repeats, I've searched every inch of the area around the signal and the traincars but can't find a thing? Anyone know what the hell is going on here?

You need to go to the nearest trainwreck... the fourth carriage (blue one, between the two orange ones). There's a bush on one side, and you need to investigate there.

look closer at the base of the blue train section. there's a tiny hatch door close to the ground.

i got inside is there nothing else to do

You mainly go inside to shut down the signal. Look at the red puddle and the teddy near the corpse... you now know what happened to Thomas. Pretty disappointing, i know, but that's Fallout.

Not that many possibilities. From what i remember there is a transmitter or radio.

just activate the ham radio and the distress signal will stop... (it'll say lost signal)...

The ham radios are fairly buggy and the distress signals don't seem to be reliably stopped for some reason.

That said, once you know that distress signal... you know to ignore it. There's a fixed set enabled by activating the radio towers, and that's it.

Ah, I never did that distress signal. However I know exactly where it it is.

The "radio events" will only spawn while you are tuned to that radio station.

I found it a while ago I just never bothered to report my findings, it was a waste of time, minor loot and a bloody teddybear...
