TAB key not working - FIX

Does your tab key no longer bring up your pip boy, or do anything for that matter? It's as simple as pressing shift (sprint) to get it working again. You're welcome :) Failing that, alt tabbing works too.

It happens when you press ESC while in Steam Overlay. Press ALT + TAB instead. Problem avoided.

It's always been as simple as bringing the overlay back up, then back down again.

You can also hold shift for a second before tab when exiting steam overlay instead of esc. This prevents the problem from occuring in the first place.

Press shift or for another way to fix it, go to any of your settlements, go into build mode. Exit out of build mode. Tab key works again. Disappearing weapon bug. Go into third person, back into first person. Weapon reappears.

Seems if your Steam overlay is bound to a key + tab it breaks it in Fallout 4. When exiting steam in game, use your key + tab binding instead of escape or pressing the X button.

I know when people hate topics that are older to be reopened but does that mean a person with the same type of question should ask again? Beyond that, I was reading this thread because my tab key started blanking out I seen someone say it does the steam overlay. This is where my question comes in I don't activate the steam overlay for any of my games if it's off shouldn't it stop the bug? Or is the bug happening because it's off? I guess I'll try that now and see if it helps any. Other tips can anyone give me another possible fix I try the shift thing and it only works 1 out of 10 times it's really annoying.
