Fallout 4
Fallout 4 Launcher: won't start the game!!!!
My game won't start it keeps restarting the fallout 4 launcher and it keeps saying it'll launch, but then it goes back to the launcher. Any ideas why that would be happening and is it happening to anyone else?
Thanks.

Press the Taskbar at the bottom of your screen anywhere once you Press "Play". It should then load the game without you actually being on the Game. When its loaded click the game it should work. Sorry if it doesnt help it worked for me.

above is a tutorial i just made last night. please share this with anyone experiencing this issue.
Neither of those worked for me. After I renamed it the launcher stopped appearing, but the game didn't launch. I just get the steam window saying 'Preparing to launch Fallout 4' over and over again.
I updated my NVIDIA driver and it started working for me. Thanks for the tutorials and tips.
I'm having the same issue Wentyl is. Anyone got any pointers?
After that I restarted steam and it finally started working, with or without launcher. No idea how, but it seems to have fixed itself :P
Well, for me running steam as admin worked.
Additional data point: none of the previously-suggested fixes worked for me, so I did a LOT of digging. What I discovered is that Windows 10 doesn't play all that nicely with newer versions of the nVidia driver. You can fix this by:

1) Going to the "Search" box and typing "cmd."
2) Right-click on "CMD" from the search results, and select "Run As Administrator."
3) Type the following command and hit [ENTER]: sfc /scannow

The SFC command (System File Checker) will run for a while, and hopefully identify the bits that are corrupted. It's likely that it won't be able to correct all of the problems it finds... because it considers newer nVidia drivers a problem. Which isn't a problem. Which is probably what's causing this problem.

My head hurts now.
I'm having the same problem. Only none of the above solutions have worked so far (Running steam and/or fallout.exe as admin, trying the method in the video, SFC, and the close steam then click on taskbar method). I don't have a nVidia graphics card so it isn't just a problem with nVidia.

I believe the problem I am having has to do with the actual Fallout4.exe file. When trying the method in the video (Changing the Fallout4.exe to Fallout4Launcher.exe) the little black "Launching Fallout 4" box pops up and restarts itself. SFC didn't find anything wrong, and the other 2 did nothing at all.

If I find a way to fix this without reinstalling the game I'll post it here.

EDIT:
Verified Integrity of Game Cache,
Updated all drivers,
Reinstalled the game and still nothing. If anyone knows how to fix this that would be great.

The game had been working since November 10th and all of the sudden it has stopped working. Will not open up past launcher

I'm having the same problem sort of. When it launches, it will show a black screen then crash. I've tried relaunching it, but I am not sure what to do. Help?

There is an answer to the black screen in the support center. Here is the link

I am still having issues trying to get the game to launch. Since yesterday I have tried a beta driver for my graphics card, completely wiped the graphics card drivers, opted into the beta updates on Steam, and many other small insignificant changes that have done absolutely nothing.

If anyone has any clue what I should try next it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm getting the same issue. Launcher comes up, I press play and nothing happens. Tried reloading the game and windows. no luck.
Try disabling any security you have on your computer (Antivirus, firewall, anti-malware, etc.). Also if you have an AMD graphics card and a windows OS, open up the task manager and end MOM.exe and CCC.exe. Both are related to Catalyst Control Center.

I was finally able to get mine to work and this is what did it for me.

Let me know if it works.
tried all that already. no luck. I have a Nvidia card.
