Fallout 4 Windowed Mode
Cannot get Fallout 4 to run tonight. Had it running all last night in windowed mode and put it to a resolution to give it a fake fullscreen effect, and tonight there is no option for more resolutions, just goes up to 1440x810....Not sure what to do now. I'm running as administrator and in windows 7 compatibility and still nothing.

Change the .ini file in documents

How do I do that? Not PC savvy at all. Please explain in detail.
Had same prob. I solved it changing the resolution of the windowed mode in the Fallout4prefs.ini to 1920x1080 so it became a fake windowed mode. first started the game with bordered windowed mode to adjust the window position, after relaunched borderless and voila playing the game full screen
bMaximizeWindow=0
bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=0
iSize H=1080
iSize W=1920

on my leveno Y50-70, Gpu 960m Latop with the tweaked window mode it wasnt working properly with 1080p. it was too large in getting a fullscreen. so chagned H=1600 by W=900 Works well for now until a fix. cheers

bMaximizeWindow=0
bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=0
iSize H=1600
iSize W=900

Start game launcher and go to options, set windowed and borderless options on, make sure resolution on game is set to highest possible 1440x900 and also set Aspect Ratio 16:10 Widescreen. Than go to C:\Users\USER NAME\Documents\My Games/Fallout4, than open up Fallout4prefs.ini and look for iSize H and W and stop there for a min. right click on desktop go to screen resolution and set it to 1440x900 click apply and ok than close, After that go back to the fallout4pref.ini in notepad and set the
iSize H=900
iSize W=1440
save and close. Than open up fallout4custom.ini and set the iLocation X and Y to
iLocation X=0
iLocation Y=0
save than close. problem fixed. game working and also full screen :) You'r Welcome

im trying to get to 1360x768 changed ini and it still wouldnt show
It is possible you changed the pipboy solution instead.
Also after changing the ini it's important that you do not change any options in the launcher menu, because changing something there will re-change the ini.

Is there any way to run in borderless but still keep the 30fps cap because it screws my game over at 60fps?

in windows 10 if you go to display settings and change the size of text, apps, and other items to 100% the 1920x1080 windowed borderless option shows up in the game launcher (you might have to logout of windows for the changes to show)
