Assigning Workers to Jobs!!??

The way you have to assign workers to jobs is so cumbersome it needs to be changed!! Way to much of a hassle.

I'd prefer a UI or a Settler name change. Maybe a planner's Book item in which you can assign jobs easily.

Yeah I assign a guy to a guard post, and he walks off. I mean whats the point if I cant get him to stay in that damn guard post

Also very difficult to see what they're assigned to (including beds) unless they're right next to it. Need some type of UI interface for sure.

Also the ability to assign a bed to yourself would be great...

Yep, I was thinking something like a simple list with every person and every item you've placed that requires resources would be great. Maybe someone will mod one :(

A roster of people and where you can assign them would be a fix. A bulletin board ...

I agrww this feature wasn't implemented as well as It could have. it wouldn't have taken much effort to make a simple GUI from the workshop menu

How do you asign jobs anyways, i cant work it out at all.

Also when i give a settler a outfit they never change there appearance?

You go into the crafting window ... find a worker and highlight him ... there a a E)go option when you highlight. Then run to the thing, veggie plant, turret, what ever ... and hight light it. There will be a E) assign option. I found you have to hold the key down, but sometime the guy wanders off ... !@##$ ... a simple roster assigning people duties would work.

The game is awesome, but the asignement is... a real pain in the ass!
Need to ring bell so they all come, after i asign 1 or 2 and they all run away and ofc i forgot who was where...

They need to do something about it asap, have 8 people in my camp, can't even imagine with more =s

Maybe make a book to asign people or something else but this interaction way is really crap =/

As a note for equipping items; you have to both give your settler an item and equip it for them. First you'll have to exchange items, and once what you want them to wear is in their inventory, there will be another button to make it their active item.

I agree. Can we please all go ham on this thread until it reaches Bethesda's attention? I honestly still don't evne know exactly HOW to assign people. how do you do it?

Oh, another thing there needs some way to ID which people have been assigned tasks. Right now there is no way to tell who's doing what!
