Fallout 4
Fallout 4 Dunwich Borers [Spoilers]
So I was on my merry way when I came across the raider infested Dunwich Borders quarry and I found something strange. After going through the quarry I came across a part of the quarry that would send you into what seems to be memories. After continuing on I came across the Ramone family that has turned into feral ghouls, after taking them out there is a deep water filled hole and at the bottom there is some giant metal thing. All the while there are tremors like there is some huge thing moving around. Anyone else come across this yet? Any thoughts on what this might be? Possible DLC?

Howard Phillips Lovecraft and The Dunwich Horror homage in Fallout 4.

Simillar terrifying dungeon were appeared in Fallout 3.

Anyway 'Dunwich' word make freak me out, i cant explore into Dunwich Bores, lol

There's something special in the pit - when you dive down, look for a skeleton marking a side passage.

yeah man me too. what the heck.
First off, no I don't think it's any indication of DLC. Fallout 3 had the Dunwich Building, and Fallout NV had one too. The devs at Bethesda are notoriously big H.P. Lovecraft fans. I mean, just look at Hermaeus Mora in The Elder Scrolls.

Anyways, the "Dunwich ______" has been in previous titles, and it's never been linked to any DLC. It's just a fun H.P. Lovecraft reference.
There's another Lovecraft reference with the Pickman's Gallery quest. It's a reference to the short story "Pickman's Model".

Yep, as an avid Lovecraft reader, I enjoyed the references quite a bit.

You'll find he has a lot of nerdy fans and as such there are lots of references in games. For example, Quake's final boss is one very obvious reference.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about time the found the megadeus's
Has anyone actually took a dive in the pool? (I didnt watch the videos) there is a a face of a titan and with no clipping there is actually a giant head under there.

Basically it's like everyone said, a HP Lovecraft reference. But the actual in game lore is the Dunwich company is ran by two people who love the occult. They set up false mining operations to dig up ancient secrets. (Hense why there was so many cost cutting & lack of safety in the Dunwich bores. Not paying for appropriate beaming & allowing railings to rust away.)

The Dunwich bores appears to be where they found the Obelisk which is placed in the Fallout 3. It basically drives people mad & is connected to an ancient evil titan.

None of that is actual lore that matters, it's just a giant easter egg.

im more a DR who person myself so im just going to pretend there is a dimensonal rift running through the place "leaking" artifacts from other universes and messing with time :P
Yeah, that huge metal thing is part of a huge face. Look again, its the nose and the eye. There was a similar thing in fallout 4, with the name dunwich. It also had a weird statue. I dunno, future dlc? Future content in fallout 5, even? I don't know, won't be long and we may find out...
