Companion bug [Companions stuck lying on the ground]

I was near the Shamrock Taphouse (near where the children of atom are in the little dilapidated building on the street) and I got into a firefight. Preston was too close to a car when it exploded, and he ragdolled into the water. Ever since then, he has been stuck lying stomach down on the ground, sliding along the ground to follow me. He also can no longer fight. I've tried saving and reloading, but I haven't tried to dissmiss him yet because I'm afraid it might mess somehting up if he can't get up and walk to where he needs to go.

I had a similar problem. I shot them until they collapsed again and then gave them a stimpak and they got back up and everything seemed fine. Hope that helps.

This is happening to me too, and I'd rather not waste a stim pack and bullets to fix this glitch. Bethesda pls fix.

had the same problem. Piper fell off a building and now wont get up. Guess i can shoot her, hope she doesnt mind :D

Punching her/him once did the trick for me.

Yea i ended up travelling from place to place and eventually she got back up

Just had this happen too. I waited in bed and it fixed it.

Well, in my case nothing of written had helped. I had to reload to my save where Piper was ok, and rerun the location.

FYI - just had this happen to me. Tried punching Valentine, but ended up pushing him into water. That forced him to swim and when I got out of the water, all is fixed.
