building in fallout 4 is really confusing..

from a player who is used to 7 days to die, ark survival, and minecraft this is so wierd..

there is PREFABS, but for some reason it doesnt look like those would be needed at all , and even if it is needed why does it have to look so dumb, just give us foundations instead, those 4 bars is annoying to look at when trying to build.

this is just my opinion, i build somethingf and it looks so wrong here, its not as user friendly as the other building games out there,

the prefab items seems so wierd, i dont really understand them , it looks like they are foundations for walls and stuff but all your stuck with is so ugly when building the prefab foundations. even if you put walls on the out sides it still forces you to build some walls on the inside of them to prevent it to look like there is wooden pillers everywhere in your small house

It has floors that you can build on, kinda works like foundations in ark really? i actually feel the builing is quite similiar to ark in a few respects.

I've never really used the prefabs so i'm not sure what you are refering to?

I'd hope/like there to be "buyable" or NPC given prefab plans so you cna have alternate stuff to make that ould be quite fancy :)

You should be able to lay the walls out then pick the kind of structure fills the area. The system now is so clunky its sad. Definately a computer programer designed it NOT an engineer.

there are separate foundations/floors/walls that you can use, prefabs are literally just that: pre-made parts of a structure for those that dont want to bother with all the components.

And you guys don't have to play with remaps directional keys like me, azerty user.
Because for some sort of bugg, the keys I remaped are not working in building mode so I can only go backward and straf on the right, imagine how easy it' is to move around and put stuff where you want.

any building tips for walls and stuff? it seems like i cannot build more than a straight line, if i try to build a house formation it wont snap and it becomes uneven, so any good tips on building a BASIC house here, its not the same as ark survival for me at all,

it will snap to the foundation if you have one, like in ark. or the roof as i showed in my video i posted earlier in the thread. i just quickly just whipped up a 2 story house with multiple rooms, internal doors and power, trying to upload screenshots but steam doesnt want to let me.
it is far more difficult than it should be though.
just build a segment at a time, lay it out with foundations them build around the foundatin before moving on to the next room.

Floors are foundations, for all intent and purpose. I figured it out the hard long way last night. To get proper snapping you have to use a floor, otherwise you can't snap corners (the wall will just try to go straight and continue).
