dead guys in power armor

Has anyone found out how to get a body out of power armor?

No, but if you're looking to get the armor then you can just take each gear off. Then put it on the frame you have at your settlement.

Just a note :D you can force people out of power armor using the pickpocket skill.. just steal the power core

But then taking the armor counts as stealling.

If you loot their corpse, then i wouldn't think it counts as stealing anymore. Buy a new frame to put the armor on from a shop.

Buy frames? I didn't know that was possible, but who needs to, they appear to be laying all over the wasteland anyway. I've currently got 5. (and still can't find a g*d*mn T-60 left leg to save my frigging life. NO storage of other parts though.)

you can buy new frames again and again from the Brotherhood, at least 1 in both diamond city and goodneighbour

If you kill an enemy wearing PO, think of the Frame as being destroyed and unusable.

The Brotherhood say that there power armor can scuttle itself so it wont fall into the wrong hands. It probably melts the plates together when you kill the person inside for the same reason.

Maybe using the resurrect command and then swiping the fusion core out of the back via pickpocketing, but that's cheating. I don't think there's a way to take the frame from a dead guy, unfortunately. At least you can somehow scavenge broken and shattered armour pieces though, that also have 0 weight so you literally do take nothing. Odd.

Honestly I think they made frames unretrievable because they couldn't be bothered designing an animation where your character picked it up off the ground and stood it upright + showing the dead pilot get ejected from the frame itself and also, note semi spoilers, because there's a Brotherhood of Steel mechanic who has no legs on her character model and thus uses the frame to walk around normally, that you also cannot steal the fusion core from, that would probably have a "fully legged" ragdoll if removed from the frame and they don't want you to see that. I guess.

There are 2 ways to get a enemy out of their power armor so you can take the whole thing.

1. pick pocket the core like other people said.

2. Shoot the core using vats or if you're just a good enough shot.

Both ways will force the enemy out of the power armor. All you have to do after is just kill them, pop in a new core and jump in.
