They said last June that they were going to put a music player ingame. But they said a lot of other things...

Anyway, the files are now packed (you have a Sounds.ba2 which is more than 1,5gb and i suppose all music is packed inside).

So, no, no custom music until someone makes a mod to unpack those files and change them with your own mp3's (or another format, i don't know).

There's this

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/255/?

Haven't tried it myself though...it just lets you replace the music in-game.

Oh gods! Having to register an account to download things for free! THE HORRO!

Also... If you haven't been to the Nexus yet, this must be your first Bethesda game..ever

No way you have to register for free to unlock the unfathomable amount of completely free content for these games, with loads of support and friendly people to help you out if you need anything? How dare they ask us to register....

Jokes aside, FO3 and NV (to name a few) are super popular even today, because of the mods, and the Nexus is the biggest place for them...don't wanna take 2 mins to register, your loss bro

Nexus has been a highly respected hub for Bethesda game mods for years. Since well before Valve added mods to Steam.

And using their mod manager is still better in many ways that using Steam to do it.

It's free and very well worth it, why is there an issue with very establilshed sites expecting people to register to use their services? Some sites do abuse the registrations by spamming people with crap and stuff but to the credit of nexus site, it doesn't do so and you won't get bombarded or anything. Been using them for a few years now with other fallout games, and elder scrolls along with a few others :) Highly recommended, I hope you don't let that keep you from the best mod repository on the internet!

Why is there an issue with people necroing almost month old threads to repeat what has already been said ad nauseum?

why do you internet idiots argue over every nit picking detail?

Um why not just turn off the radio and play your own music in the background. Any basic sound card can play 2 streams at once. So can the chip on your motherboard.

It's the only way, because Valve has no clue how to handle mods for Bethesdas games. The mod order is imortant. Downlod "LOOT", too.

And a tip: "Do not change mods during one playthrough. Don't add any, don't remove them, and do not update them either" Otherwise you risk corrupted save games. That's a bug, that cannot be solved by modders from the game engine. And BUGTESDA isn't able to patch their games, we know that already.

You can actually add/remove/update mods on the same save file...it IS risky for certain mods but others, not at all...mainly script mods cause issues. Just follow the instructions on the site. But yes, ideally, don't remove any...adding isn't problematic for most mods.

If you've got enough experience to know, then yeah you can remove and update too. Just back up your old mod version and your save file from before uninstalling/updating.

Open the console with ` or ' (depends on your layout) and type without quotes...also spaces wont work in the save name: 'save before_mod_update'

That's not exactly a bug...it's a problem with the user, in that they want to remove content they previously added....thats got nothing to do with the state of the product Bethesda have put out. I'm all for pointing at them for their bugs, but that's not one of them.

about my own experience, it's because sometimes, my music player backup to the desktop, also because it covers (however the volume of your music is) the ingame sounds, and is not integrated to it ;)
