Can't open the console

I can't open the console. I've tried the ~ key, @, all of it. Everything. But it won't open. How do i fix this?

Depends on what keyboard you're using. In my case I had to use the ''Ö'' key on my swedish keyboard. More examples can be found here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_console_commands :)

Have you tried going into the pause menu and then using the ~ key?

Im UK and its ' for me instead of ` like on Skyrim. (Key below @)

I'm in the same boat. Have tried every combination I've seen online to no avail.

Please update if you find any resolution! I just really want to be able to 'tcl' when I'm stuck in a wall, or fly up to take better screenshots.

did you per chance use "tm"? that hides the console too not just the menus. you have to press ~ to open the console, you wont see it, type "tm" then hit enter.

Pugs how did you get it to work? mine like 5 mins ago just stopped working and i need my console to spawn in standalone items from nexus mods. mostly because i need to find the item id and for some odd reason the console just decided it doesn't wanna work now when it was working fine. and no i didn't type tm in the console xD

Hmm, have you tried hitting right shift+ right ctrl?
It'll switch key assignment, and it's one of the main causes for me (as I seem to have a habit of picking up my keyboard close to them)

I just tried the right shift + right ctrl, nothing is still happening still wont open the console. i checked the fallout 4 config and the console is still ticked, i even unticked and saved then ticked and saved again still doesn't work and i have it so it launchers as admin when i launch the game. so i really don't know what caused it to stop working.

Never mind i found the fix, my windows 8.1 updated before i played fallout 4 and for some odd reason it changed the keyboard from ENG US to ENG UK so it moved the keys around on my keyboard xD

So this happened to me a little while ago and I fixed it. If you are using Windows 10 hold Space + Windows Key. This will let you change your input language. The "~" key should work again.

Well, after hours of trying to solve this- my nine month old baby solved it for me when he slapped the keyboard. Instead of hitting the key below escape (~ and `) he hit the key next to enter (" and ') and there the console was, in all its glory.

I hope we can all temper our embarassment of being outwitted by an infant with the excitement of finally having the console again.
