Audio issues, left vs right volume
So, I am using a logitech G930 wireless gaming headset to play Falout 4. I noticed in the game there are some severe audio issues between the left and right sides. In cutscenes and during gameplay, the left speaker is severely muted, and character audio tends to sound distorted and scratchy from the left. Right side is perfect. Quite annoying as it sounds like everything is on my right atm. Tested my headphones with music players, youtube, and other games: All sounds good when running them. Another weird thing is that during the initial game load-up, when the "please stand-by" screen appears, audio seems to be OK from the left and right. Completely confused on what is going here. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Maybe my game code didn't install right...

i have exactly the same problem with my logitech G35 headset.
i plugged in a old headset i still have lying around it there it seems to work just fine.
maybe because that headset uses the optical output instead of just a USB cable, maybe it is a logitech issue?

I'm having the same problem and it's driving me insane. Anyone got a solution for this?

Found a solution, albeit a weird one. On the G930. there's a switch on the back of the left speaker. It goes between surround and non-surround. Flip it down and it should fix the audio. Something about the headset not auto-detecting the output from Fallout.

So any idea how to fix it when there isn't a switch? I've scoured the internet and almost everyone saying this has a logitech headset.

Same here, i own the logitech G930, and indeed when i activate the "souround" effect via the switch on the left of the headphones; it works.
I'v tried with several old logitech drivers and new ones with the logitech's game assistant but nothing seems to work other than via the switch.

EDIT: Put your peripheral in stereo:
bottom right of your desktop right click the speaker>select playback devices>select applicable playback device (green check mark next to it)>select configure>set audio channel to stereo, not possible on G930 (only 7.1 is possible on channel audio selection, that's why only the switch give a good sound.)

Not sure if anyone found a fix to this, but this fixed the issue for me (g35's - They should be the same, just wireless)

Right click speaker on desktop > playback devices > right click on headphones > configure speakers > next > disable ALL optional speakers [Turn off: center, subwoofer, side pair, rear pair] (this puts the headphones into stereo mode) > next > next > finish

Hopefully this helps someone at least.

I believe the problem lies with logitech. They have not set up a profile yet for Fallout 4. I keep looking to see if they updated there list, but they have not. I don't know what they are waitting for though. I tried scanning for games with it and it's still not on the list. So best thing to do is complain to logitech.

You are wearing your headphones backwards.

I had similar issues with my G35 headset on multiple games and used several workarounds including adjusting the volume balance manually for each game using both Windows audio setting and an equalizer app and disabling extra speakers to force stereo. I even tried swapping out soundcards. The issue as best as I could figure out is related to the virtual surround sound engine that Logitech uses and it being pretty crap and not working properly with alot of games and programs( I had alot of issues with the headset not working properly with TS as well). After searching forums all over the internet for soltions and asking Logitech directly and basicly getting a polite email version of a shoulder shrug and cant help you response I finaly gave up trying to work out the problem and got a SteelSeries 9H headset and have had zero issues since. Ive been a pretty loyal Logitech user for a long time, but enough was enough and Logitech doesnt seem to be interesting in providing a fix for what seems to be a common and known issue going back several years at least.

That's not a fix, that's just dumbing down a 7.1 audio game into a 1990's stereo game.
