How to tell actual radiation level?
I can't see anywhere in the UI where it says what your radiation level is. I know it degrades your maximum health and that is the red portion of your health bar, but there is no numerical representation of this anywhere. It properly told us how much we were radiated in New Vegas and Fallout 3...

Open the Pipboy, on the right side there's the gauge you are used to.

What do you mean? I know on the main page it says my Damage Reduction, Plasma Reduction and Radiation reduction. I also know that equipping a suit of armour like the Drifter Suit doesn't update the stats on your limbs on the character portrait too (Character portrait when looking at armour).

There's a radial gauge, not part of the PipBoy on-screen UI, that shows your radiation level. Has an atomic symbol on it.

It's the gauge directly to the right of the screen: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/7/72/Fallout4_E3_PipBoy.png/revision/latest?cb=20150615125852

You can also tell approximately how irradiated you are by the health bars. Health bar fills up with red from the right side if you've taken radiation damage.

So now you have to read the "assumably geiger" and the right side fill up is totally from their phone-app fallout shelter of the same rads mechanic which prevents you from having full max health when you heal?

Guess all SUPER DUPER IRRADIATED GHOULS.. must be really really weak then right Bethesda? I mean they shouldn't be able to half more than like a quarter health...

sigh.... Why did they do some many wrong changes....

Ah okay, really, really strange choice but okay, thank you for clearing that up.

That's your current exposure not how poisened you are.

Oh? So there is no actual "how poisoned you are" indicator other then the health gauge turning red? They could very easily add a radiation number or percentage above your current/max health shown in the bottom left of the fMain area of the Pipboy...

I don't think current exposure is measured in x100 rads. It is your current cumulative radiation and corresponds directly to the red portion of the health bar. If you don't believe that, go stand in radiation for a while, then go somewhere without radiation and tell me if the meter is empty.

Ghouls are healed by radiation, silly.

Thanks guys,I was wondering this myself.I was used to the actual number from the other games. That dial is a little easier to read.
Skev Nov 22, 2015 @ 8:20pm
The only way to tell the exact number is to fully heal, then the difference between your current hitpoints and max hitpoints on the status screen is the amount of actual radiation you've suffered.
Grace1957 Nov 22, 2015 @ 8:24pm
I just wanted to see how close I was to danger and you can't tell that with the little red bar.I like the guage better. It's easier for me to see when I'm close to max level.I don't want to waste a radaway.
Artfu1D0dger Nov 22, 2015 @ 8:28pm
not sure why this is complicated
dial on right side of pipboy shows the usual radiation damage (0-1000)
what ever it is, its just the opposite of your health so if you have 333/1000 radiation poisoning (goes into red past 200, not sure if you lose stats every 200pts or not like the old games) then the latter 1/3 of your health bar will be red...
the only thing about this i find confusing is the HUD in the power armor, because the rad meter in that is for exposure and if you want to know how its affecting your health you have to keep a close eye on the hitpoint dial
Grace1957 Nov 22, 2015 @ 9:42pm
It's not confusing,I just never noticed the guage on the right. To me,that's easier to read.
