What does "local leader" do?
I unlocked it thinking it would share my scrap inventory among all my workshops / settlements, wihout me having to manually move scrap to be able to make stuff at new settlements... but this is not the case, each workshop still has its own inventory after unlocking and reloading.

What does it do then?

I haven't tested anything related to local leader but I know that you need it to make trader outposts so there's that

According to the wiki...

Local Leader is a perk in Fallout 4.

Effect

Allows the construction of the trading stand in your settlements. The stand adds a vendor NPC who stocks some of the best items available..

you need to assign a settler as a runner between settlements to share resources.
Once you have local leader find a spare settler and go workshop mode, can't remember the keybind but it should be listed bottom of the screen.

That's local leader level 2

I am talking of local leader level 1. Description is this : you are able to establish supply lines between your workshop settlements.

Dravere Nov 10, 2015 @ 11:31pm
yeah the supply lines make your settlements share construction supplies to any settlements attached to them
XenonMB Nov 10, 2015 @ 11:33pm
you need to assign one of your free settlers to actually run any given supply lines, connected workshops will then share resources... i also had to look it up

I think everone has because there's no mention in game.

for the record, each settlement has its own inventory, but if you notice when you construct stuff, it takes materials from -all- the networked settlements to make them, pooling them into whatever settlement you have as your "trade hub" type thing...

How to explain better... ok. Lets see

You have settlement A. this is your first settlement

Settlement B and C are independent, not connected to A at all.

If you connect settlement B and C to A the "construction inventories" are shared between all three. It wont show all the materials at their individual workbenches, but when you go to build something (say at settlement C) if there is insufficient wood (for example) in C's storage thingy, it will take it from A and B.

EDIT: and yes, you have to assign someone of that settlement to be a supply runner, just walk up to someone and press Q.

Alright here's the thing, that perk is seriously important. I just figured out how it works and it's amazing.

What you need to do is go to one of your settlements and enter build mode, hover over one of the NPC's and find one with the option "Supply Line" then click it and select one of your settlements.

Now here's the trick to it. Make sure your supply lines run in a circle from one settlement to the next in order to share your inventory between all your bases.

You can check the lines by going to the world map and hitting the "C" key.

EDIT: Also if you don't have anyone in a settlement you can send a spare person to that settlement and then assign him to a supply route.

I love this feature so much lol.

So much burried information. They could really not make an effort to clarify?

Yeah pretty awesome skill, i beelined for it as soon as i saw it. Glad i didn't misunderstand what it does.

How do i send a person to another settlement?
