So, Survival = Very Hard w/ slow healing?

No idea, im trying very hard atm, because i just took out a bunch of super mutants on hard. Although to be honest i threw 10 grenades at them when they bunched up in a choke point. XD ahhaha

Enemies are tougher, healing isn't that bad but you should heal up with stims if you engage things like mirelurkers close range, deathclaws you should kite certainly, and a chaingun or heavy sledge user. You don't want to get tagged up close or by automatic weapons fire.

Survival you do come across more legendaries, but not enough of them imo. I'm really debating just playing on normal because the risk for so little so far has not paid off for me, so the "reality" of gimpiness some like is just annoying to me. Maybe a mod that increases legendaries like double I would really enjoy that aspect more without the survival rules gimpiness.

So compared to other fallout games where harder difficulties got you nothing at all. The fact that you actually get something now isnt worth?

AKA bullet sponge difficulty, have fun, lol.

No, not with something that is so unnoticable to me and that is the only reason I tried survival for so long.

survival mode first playthrough...originally was a test to see how hard it would be but just ended up being disappointingly easy. really sad.

from my research theres the healcap with x2--> x3the chance of legendary encounter.. AI and dmg mods stay the same

i hope they fix this to be a challenge.

The slower healing and higher damage output by enemies makes the difference. You just can't afford to let your health drop too much in a fight, because it takes like 1 minute to heal yourself back up (unless maxed out Medic perk, which i never tested).

For the vastly increased toughness of enemies, you just need to make optimal use of perks. Example a VATS-Crit or a sneak-melee build can still one- or twoshot pretty much anything.
Without those builds, pretty much anything turns into the infamous "bullet sponge" fights. Remembering my 10 minute fight against a Gunner Commander in T-60 PA, which was more boring than difficult.

Also Chems are extremely strong, since you can create plenty of variants like Psychobuff / Psychojet and they all stack together, you can even survive a nuke explosion while only wearing clothing and ultralight leather armor.

PS: also legendary enemies become very frequent on Survival Mode above level 20-30, there seems to be at least one in every pack / camp.

Yes, healing items are weaker and/or heal slower.
Shad Feb 16, 2016 @ 10:51am
Yes, until they refine the system with their overhaul.

So now that I've found you again, why exactly should people report me?
Or did you just do that for a sprung of the moment attention?

well all you gotta do for a survival mode is disallow stimpacks.

Bethesda is making a better survival mode more like hardcore mode in NV, and it has disease, I guess it will be out on March

Source?
I didn't see anything besides "overhaul" according to news sites, and "reworked" according to bethesda.

Slower healing means nothing when you eat a dozen different cooked foods at once. If I add in chems, pre-war food, water and nuka cola, I can still heal faster than anything can deal damage.

Survival mode simply extends the amount of time it takes to become a god-like killing machine. You still need to be a little more careful of enemies with heavy weapons or explosives. It makes starting out as a melee or unarmed character more difficult, but by the time you hit level 30 or so, you will one hit kill most enemies, assuming you've gotten yourself a decent legendary weapon.

Easy early access to weapons like the Overseer's Guardian mean that survival mode is only hard if you don't know where to look.

survival and very hard are the exact same in terms of combat statistics (damage dealt damage taken) but there are more legendary creatures and you heal slower.
