Hacking a terminal is poorly designed
Hacking a terminal is poorly designed, you can choose a word and you'll see how many letters are correct.(not which letters). The amount of tries and amount of words is inchoherent, cause mostly you end up having more then one possibility even after your last try. I did a novice one and when i succeeded i just clicked randomly, because i had enough of it.
WHAT A FREAKIN FAILURE!

look up a guide it's actually quite easy, there are other things you can do to eliminate wrong choices without using up your 4 tries.

If you see part of the code like

[ ]

or

( )

click on them and it'll automatically delete a wrong word choice or it'll reset your tries so you can guess more.

Also when guessing here's a tip:

say your guess is:
HACK
(1/4 correct)

then when guessing the next word 1 of the letters has to match up

so if the next word is
DIVE it would be wrong because none match up.

you would need to pick a word like
SAID
as the A matches the 2nd letter of HACK

(The Terminals also reset after 10seconds, so you should easily be able to solve it in 1 to 3 attempts)

its the same as Fallout 3 and Fallout NV if you havent figured it out yet might wanna watch a youtube video on how to hack them.

Its the EXACT same system that was in Fallout 3 and Fallout NV. and if this was that poorly designed as you seem to think it was they would have gotten a lot more flak for it.

I haven't failed one yet.
Wooooah you're just now complaining about this? They've been doing it exactly like this since 3

it's not poorly designed, its a simple puzzle really just need to use the old noggin a bit and figure it out. Worked well in the previous games works well here.

sh up---- its the same as f3 its good.... just ESC after 3 trys....
my concern is that the terminal is not locked permanent after 1 fail

It isn't that difficult if you use a bit of common sense. Just take your time, work yhrough the options, and you'll eliminate the dud words pretty quickly.

It's a simple children's puzzle...

Have you even played fallout before?

I love these... they are fun to do. What I do is I check all the words before hand, and always look for 2-3 letters that repeat themselves in the end, then I start removing options. It's pretty quick and easy. If I'm uncertain by the fourth choice, I just restart it (but that only happens when i'm not paying attention, as there are ways to remove multiple choices)

Oh wow I feel stupid now, I never new that part about the brackets and I don't even know how many times I played fo3 and new Vegas, then again it wasn't too hard without knowing that either

It is the easiest logic puzzle possible. Sudoku seems wholly enigmatic I assume?

I recently found that out, in Fallout 3 and New Vegas I avoided ALL terminals, lmao

hmm i thought it only gave you the message that one letter of the word is in the selected word. If it does it seems it's also the correct place, that allready makes it alot different.
