hooking up electricity to a TV
I'm trying to get my TV powered up but I can't seem to get the wire to connect. I have the connector in position, I've tried every angle, and nothing. It just won't snap to it.The TV says it only needs 1 power, and I'm using a windmill generator which puts out 3. Has anyone been able to do this yet? Is there a weird connection point that's hard to get the wire to or something? Or is the TV one of those things that just siphons power from nearby power sources like lights and radios?

So it's specifically the pylons that do the wireless energy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Good to know. Thanks!

Anything good on TV?

Any conduit or pylon nearby will power them

So has anyone actually got a TV to work?

I haven't tried tvs yet. I've been trying to get my water purifier in the stream out back to work. I built a medium generator behind the house in Sanctuary. I hit space to connect a wire and get the sparking icon with the red line. I run that out to the river and to the purifier where it snaps to connector. The text then reads hit space to attach, so I do. Nothing. I've done it again and again, in as many configurations as I could imagine. I've even built new attachments for both pieces of equipment and tried connecting via those. Nothing. The wire won't connect. Any ideas? Am I missing some basic step?

I didn't expect this to be so relatable but I guess a lot of people are having the same problems.

Pylon didn't work, but a friend of mine said to try a switch right next to the tv, bc apparently switches project power to all nearby small electrical items when powered. Haven't gotten the chance to try it yet but that's another option for you folks.

You say the wire is red? Means you need to move either the purifier or the generator, or build a conduit between them. If the angle is wrong or they're too far apart, you can't connect the wire.

I had a hanging light, nearby pylon, wouldn't kick on till i wall mounted a conduit and connected THAT to the pylon.

I wanna keep playing with the electrical, but can anyone confirm if pylons actually power nearby room objects? or if conduits power by radius or by room?

I had a pylon that happened to be near where I also had a light and a radio and they worked just fine, but I'm not sure if that's because they were near the pylon or the generator. I think tvs might just be some weird outlier or something.

I finally got it to work! Turns out you have to attach a switch to the side of the tv for some reason. Didn't even need to connect the wire, it just powered up automatically, though the switch does count as a connection point.
