How to build beds for sanctuary?

I have all the necessary materials to craft a bed however the E button is greyes out and I cant seem to craft the beds. What am I missing here?

Same here, no clue how to fix it.

It worked for me like that: You go to workshop,go to funriture-> bed then you just move around till you find the correct place to place it. I think you in that last phase just you are not moving. Try to move and see if bed siluete in red/yellow pops in places where you run to.

Lol as soon as I posted, I went away from the station, you can place the beds if you move away from the station and look at the ground...

So, you have enough cloth? Go into build mode. Select the bed you want to build and it'll go green when you have the material and space to plop it.

Yes you can also just hold "V" or the middle mouse button while in a settlement to enter the building mode for settlements, so you don't always have to go to the workshop unless you want to store items there.

You can move and look around freely when in the build menu, helps alot :)

what about storage? Can I store things in places besides giving them to residents?

As long as you are in a settlement hold down V then you can build anywhere within the settlement boundries you dont need to go to the workshop, also you can scrap items in this mode by looking at them and pressing R, things like Cars, treestumps, lampposts, furniture, tyres, sinks, baths, collapsed houses etc, also pressing E over an item if its got a green glow means you can relocate it, not just things you made/make but furniture in houses, beds storage etc...just found this out after looking for this post regarding placing beds so thought I would share the knowledge. So far I am loving this game its better than I hoped.

I know I dont understand all the complaints? I think the game is great! I sort of understand why people are upset the skills were removed but honestly the perk tree replaces the skills really well in this game. Bethesda does seem to be stripping away more and more of the traditional rpg elements from there games esp. in Skyrim where I felt stat points and skills were truly necessary, not that I didnt have plenty of fun playing it just didnt feel like the TES rpg experience I was looking for.

but so it doesn't matter where we place the bed? I can place the bed anywhere, in the street etc.. and they will still be happy to sleep under the rain without a roof... man...

The truth is that myself and many like me are completely unable to make or place beds in Sanctuary. We get a notice that we have to clear Sanctuary of hostiles or something of that nature. Numerous notes to Bethesda have resulted in cricket silence.

Update: I can now create and place beds in Sanctuary. However!! No one in Sactuary recognizes the beds.
Any idea when Bethesda is going to fix this? I have no idea what changed to give me the ability to make the beds. A lot of good when no one in Sanctuary even knows the beds are there.
Side note: I can make Mama Murphy's chair with no issues but I cannot make her a bed.
