CAN'T SAVE GAME ON PC?!

As the title says.. I can't save my game or load. I played for an hour+ and died, then it took me straight to the main menu. I've tried finding a "Saves" folder and found nothing. Went back in after having to start a new game and when I save through the pause menu, it doesn't do anything.

Anyone else got this problem and have found a fix?

mydocuments/mygames/fallout4/save. Someone said to check that the save dir is not set to read only.

Where do I put that folder? And what name exactly?

Go to My Documents -> My Games -> Fallout 4 and make the folder in there.

And what do I call the folder? Is it case sensitive?

Windows isn't case sensitive, Linux is. The folder name is "Saves"

Doesn't work for me..

I've tried: Disabling cloud, deleting all saves except newest ( with cloud enabled it copies the others back properly; cloud is also only using 200mb of 800mb ), running Fallout 4 as admin, verifying local integrity of files, adding Everyone to My Games in My Documents under security, copying FalloutPrefs.ini original file to the Fallout4 dir in My Games....

Nothing has worked so far... There is more than enough space on both drives ( C: and E: ) and on cloud. This is a recent issue; I had no issue until I restarted Fallout 4 today ( although I did unplug one of my hard drives which had nothing on it to do a test install of windows 10 but that was without any other drives plugged in; and since this was just a data drive it shouldn't matter especially since it wasn't being used...

Waiting on the validation of files, once done I'll try that. 1 file failed and is being reacquired..

Ok, it seems to have replaced my settings file with the revalidation... saving still doesn't work... All of my controls and hud colors have been reset...

I'm also locked out of console now too; so I can't try force save commands...

Trying to reinstall completely...

I just tried playing for the first time in a long time and I'm having the same issue. I've reinstalled, deleted all local and cloud saves, verified integrity, uninstalled and deleted all leftover files, and messed around with read-only and security settings to ensure those aren't the issues and I am still having this issue.

Take it out of survival mode. Or find a bed to sleep in... Good Lord.

Hi All, I just found another tip on Reddit - Try checking your Antivirus program. I found Bitdefender was blocking it as a Ransomware app/page.

This one did it for me. Bitdefender was preventing Fallout to write savegames.

Same here. Kind of annoyed with BD in general lately.
