Stored Workshop Items
Stored a generator at workshop now cannot find it in the workbenchs inventory. Where do they get stored?

I am looking for that myself.

Are you looking in the settlement where you stored it specifically? If not, go there and look for it. Items don't transfer afaik.

No, I am talking about breaking the items down. Don't tell me I have to take all the junk I find to the base, drop it all on the ground, and then scrap it piece by piece. That would be completely insane

Welcome to insanity.

Just store junk in any workshop container in the workshop area and you can use the junk as material from any other station in the same build area.

you mean the generator that you build to make power for your settlement? I don't think you can put it in your "inventory" I think you just get the option to plop one down without spending resources (because you already spent them)

You certainly don't need to drop items to ground and scrap. If you go to the workbench, and transfer items, there is even a shortcut to transfer junk (default is T).

As to the OP's question, I'm not sure the items "stored" at the site can be transferred to inventory as items. It might just be that you can place them later at no cost of materials, but I don't think you can "transfer" an item like say a power armour station from one settlement to another.

Really? I have to drop everything on the ground and do it through the first person view item by item? No way! There has to be something we are missing. It would be best if it just broke it down as needed, but I would accept a bench of some kind to do it manually. Dropping it on the ground will take 30 minutes a load

Heh its all good finaly figured it out, when you store any item, if you go back into the build menu find what you had just stored there is a number above it telling you how much surples you have and you can just re-place it.

You can find the generator (the one that produces eneryg for your settlement) by just placing it, like you would place a new one. It's stored in there. Then you can look at it in workshop mode and just scrap it if you like to.

Weapons and armor can be scrapped at their respective workstations from inside the menu.

Junk is scrapped automatically when stored in the "workshop" as soon as it is needed to build something.

To make it so that workshops from different settlements share its inventory you have to make a supply line.

I've tried this with power equipment like generators and pylons, but I notice my material costs still go down. Like at my main base I'm low on copper so I can't build much power equipment, yet it says I have 2 generators stored and pylons and other stuff. Is there a different button to push than 'build?'

Also, what happens to copper wires when you scrap or 'store' a piece of electrical equipment?
