Fallout retail version - I don't have DVD drive, can I install full game without using the disc?

Physical retail version in my country is 30% cheaper than here on Steam. But my computer doesn't have DVD drive. Can I do a full install without it?

I keep finding posts and articles about how you can't install the game with disc only, you need a download. I'm trying to confirm the opposite - that there is a Steam key inside the box which I can use to install the full game without using the disc.

Anyone?

Yes you can install the retail version without using the dvd. The case includes a Steam key. Infact even if you have a DVD drive you still have to download 19 GB. I know since I bought the disc because I have satelite internet and am now looking at a week of downloading or driving 30 miles and spending a day leaching off someone else's internet.

Alright! I am using a DVD key to register the game to Steam. This worked. Now I am downloading the ENTIRE game from Steam. Did not have to use the DVD at all, just the key.
So far so good. WIll tell you guys if I can play the game.

The game requires steam anyway so you get a steam cd key with the dvd
p.s, the dvd is useless it only installs 20% of the game and you need to download the rest.

All right, so I can confirm - the Steam key is in the box, not on the DVD - you don't need the DVD for anything.

Nope. It's printed on a lable inside the box. Sometimes put under the disc.

Like all other posters, you should be able to get a CD key and forego the DVD.

Or in the case of Skyrim GOTY retail, no DVD at all and just a key. Yeah, that happened, made no sense to me whatsoever.
