[SPOILER-ISH] Hostile NPCs in Gift Shop - Quest Related?

Not a story related spoiler - not even really a spoiler, but can't be too careful. So - question for anyone else that's been around the Walden Pond area:

Stumbled across a drainage pipe at Walden Pond, which led to the basement of Walden Pond gift shop. Bunch of named raiders in there and some good loot. They fire on you instantly. Names were Tweez, Whiplash, and a few others I forget.

Wondering why they'd be named, and not just "Raiders" if it's not quest related, unless it's an Easter Egg type reference.

Anyone know if these guys are related to a side-quest that I just borked by killing them all?

I know what you mean. This always happens to me in Bethesda games: run around, explore, kill things, find a quest later that's broken because I already completed part of it. Whoops!

Game's too new to find info on wikis though.

You guys probably found the quest but if you didnt, it's after starting up the base at Starlight and the settlers will ask you to deal with raiders at Walden Pond

I killed them on the way to that mission lol
