Random Crash to desktop without error
As title says, after random times my game crashes to desktop without any error showing, just vanishes.
Sometimes after 4 hours of playing sometimes after 5 minutes.
I tried turning off nvidia streaming services but that did not fix any thing.
If any one knows something that might help please let me know.

Here are my specs
GTX 980 sli
12gm ram
i7 3930k 4.5ghz
win10 latest, gpu driver latest etc

So i think i have it sorted, well maybe. First off rest both your global and Fallout graphics setting from the Nvida Control panel. Then for fallout turn off Vsync. Next in GF Experience load the optimal settings.

Also it appears you have an OC going with yoru CPU. I had to de tune mine ( -200 Mhz) a bit to get it to play correctly. I play all of my other games with my pc over clocked but this one doesnt like it too much, my guess i has to do with how the engine uses system memory and the FSB ratio.

Also check that you have the lateest drivers installed for your GPU.

You mean to turn off vsync in-game and force it with control panel?

I removed my oc an going to try now see if it makes a difference and I have the latest drivers installed.

Just crashed again after 3 hours-ish, with no cpu oc.

Happens all the time after I got to the vault exit, and when entering the first village, Sanctuary. Unplayable. I get an average of 10 seconds play-time, after 9 attempts now. Drivers are all updated, so I guess something else is wrong *sigh*

Just happened again after one hour, really random not only at one location or doing the same thing.

Having the same issue, just crashing to the desktop without any errors or logs to speak of.

It's currently making the game extremely unplayable as it is completely random.

It's actually worth noting that i am also using an Intel 3930k CPU.

My game used to crash when ever I entered Diamond City, it dosn't anymore for some reason. But, when ever I fight the robots with the Brother hood guy it crashes every freakin time! I know it's only day one, so I hope there's an update soon that fixes this. I JUST WANNA PLAY! D':

Yet again crash 40 minutes-ish, it happens everywhere for me no matter what location. in-out combat. Really starting to annoy me now :/

Have the same problem, crash without warning or msg to desktop. After launch i played 6 hours straight and quit the game myself. No crashes, no bugs etc..

Now after that update we got today, it crashes all randomly evrywhere from 1min play - 2 hour play.. No specific thing i do, walking in wilds, only trees, crash. Full battle. crash...

And here i thought i actually got a Bethesta game thats bugfree!!!

GTX 770 2gb
i5-4670k 3,40 ghz
8gb ram
Win 7 Ultimate

All drivers updated etc, tried lowest setttings, optyimized with nvidia geforce.. Nothing...

Same for me, gives me some game play then quits without explanation. I think it got worse after the audio patch.

Game up to date via Steam
Win 10 Pro. Fully updated
(i7)5960 CPU (Cooled by H110 Liquid CPU)
GTX 980 GPU Fully updated
Rampage V Extreme motherboard.

You should probably wait for a patch from the developers. I had these crashes with other games a long time ago, and it's usually just the software being unstable. You are not alone, so the odds of it being your PC are fairly minimal.

Of course you can keep trying with the help of others like you're doing, you might be able to find a workaround.

Happens all random. i have noticed that when you restart your computer and the memory been cleared, it does play longer without crash, so might be a memory on ram that gets filled up after you been doing alot of stuff. So i allocated more memory from my hard drives to use as RAM, and does look like it helps a bit, but did still get crash...

Fallouy 3 and new vegas did have same problem with ram memory getting used up and not cleared after time. prolly why i can play more after a computer restart!

Bad bad Bethesda, you'd think a donkey wouldn't hit the same stone twice.

Imagine if cars were sold like games are nowadays, half broken and missing parts, you'd have a guy coming every week to patch it up... pathetic.

So, it has been a while and I am quite sure that you are right, if I boot fresh I can play for many hours without crash, after about 7-8 hours I had a crash. Then it started crashing more frequently untill I rebooted.
I was hoping any one with some more knowledge about computers could tell if this is fixable by me in my computer or it has to be patched.
