I turned off godrays completely, and it's been a smooth ride so far. Tell me if it helped.
Sometimes the music and ambient sounds stay playing fine, its usually the SFX like firing guns, monster noises, footsteps, etc that stop.
Every single time it unfreezes (which can take as little as 10 secs up to 60 secs to do) all the SFX all play at the same time as if the audio "catches up" really fast.
It is driving me insane... and nothing I have tried has helped.
The only other game I've had this problem with is Skyrim (go figure), but either an official, or the unofficial, patch fixed it.
Let's get to the bottom of this sucker.
RAM: Corsair 8GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB GDDR5
OS: Win 7
Game auto set me to Ultra, but I've lowered some settings and turned off motion blur because it gives me migraines.
amd phenom ii x4 955 black edition
Maybe AMD is the culprit? I remember MGS5 had problems with AMD CPUs at launch as well cause they accidentally set the game to use a specific technolgy only seen in newer CPUs.
Nvidia gtx 760 4gb
win 10
AMD radeon 8GB ram
If AMD is the issue I would expect more people to have this problem. When I look on google I really only find 2-3 posts (including this one) on different forums. I feel like it would already be fixed if it was more widespread.
R9 280x 3GB
Win 10
8 GB RAM
Like I said, the only other game that I have ever had this problem on is Skyrim, so I'm inclined to believe it's a problem with Bethesda's engine
