Game is open, won't tab in. Please help.
Hello people. My game is currently open and running but won't tab in, go full screen or anything... I can hear the music and I can hover over my task bar and see the thumbnail of the game, moving and working. I can even use my keyboard and interact with the menu on the little thumbnail. What the hell is going on? Why won't my game tab in?

Imgur screenshot of what I mean. Literally cannot do anything. Tried messing with everything setting, borderless and everything. http://i.imgur.com/8TbXzGj.jpg

Try modifying the fullscreen setting in the Fallout4pref.ini file. You may or may not have to do this everytime before starting the game.

File can be found at C:\Users\YourName\Documents\My Games\Fallout4.

Ctrl+F and search for "bFull" and modify the setting to 0.

So it should look like this "bFull Screen=0".

I have tried every single on of these settings in every single combination. The game is running and working, just doesn't start tabbed in and I can't tab in after it's start.

same here, sometimes i managed to get into the game, but the screen keeps flashing... don't understand, it works fine on window mode with high resolution, but the window is too small for my screen... :/

Okay, I found the fix. This is literally one of the dumbest problems ever. Thanks FartPouch for directing me towards the My Games folder.

K, so anyway. Go to Users/YourName/Documents/MyGames/Fallout4, search for a config file named "Fallout4Custom".
Open that file, there should be 3 lines

[Display]
iLocation X=-32000
iLocation Y=-32000

Change whatever your numbers are to 0 and save it.

Go to Users/YourName/Documents/MyGames/Fallout4, search for config file named Fallout4prefs.
Open that file, scroll down to where you can see this (below). Change all settings to what's below, make sure your resolution is your own (and not my own copy pasted)

bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=0
iSize H=1080
iSize W=1920

Then launch the game.

Seriously, it's absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beyond me why the game was opening at -32000 -32000. That means it was open and working fine, but because it's a Bethedsa game with stupid ass alt-tabbing issues, there was no way to alt tab, and there was no way to drag the window back to its normal position. What in the actaul ♥♥♥♥ Bethesda, 32k 32k

That's strange. The default for iLocation Y and X is 0.

He'll be having on-board graphics, two monitors or just outdated drivers. Something told the game launcher to open at that location. It didn't come to that conclusion on its own.

Then look at the solution above. If that does not work for you, you need to come back with your FULL system specs, found at the top of the Steam library window under HELP > SYSTEM INFORMATION.

Was the game working properly before? Is this your first time using it? Have you changed anything if it did play before?
