Where to get gears?

Starting the base building aspect, looking for gears while scrapping things but cannot find anything that has them, anyone able to help?

Tag them, it'll highlight objects that have them, including highlighting containers with items that have them.

should be loads of them at places like the corvega assembly plant if I don't remember wrong.

Sparse Dunes has Fallout 4

go to the buttercup building facilities. I beleive there are two of them or at least two with an abundance of Buttercups. They give you lots of screws and gears if I recall.

only highlights them if you have the perk for it, but tagging still gives an icon on items that have what you have tagged.

Yeah, one room there, has TONS, it's called umm, wilson's anatomy i think, tons of them. I have the scrapping perks, I get a lot of screws from breaking down guns.
