So...they ditched Ron Perlman?
War is just not the same without him...

As far as I know he's supposed to be in it. He's been in all of them, I think it's in his contract. IMDB said he was going to be the narrater.

IMDB was probably only assuming it. Ever since the first fallout game the intro started with Ron Perlman saying "War...war never changes"

He's not the narrator in the intro for FO4. However I feel like Bethesda tried to overcompensate the lack of Perlman, by saying the "War never changes" line 3 times by the time the game starts.....

I'm pretty sure he's the guy on the TV at the beginning of the game before the nuke.

This. He's there, just not for long. I personally preferred the new intro sequence, it was very powerful and allowed for more character development than the previous ones. Really digging thw whole not-so-clean slate thing now that they've decided to make an actual character out of our character.

He's sadly on the tV because Betehsda seems to be high and changed a long tradition of the series. I'll be very pissed if he does not do the epilogue either.

Well ♥♥♥♥. First they move the game to the east coast. Then they remove Perlman as the narrator. What's next to go? The power armor? Raiders? The nuclear war?

(Sry...I'm having trouble letting things go :D)

What? Did they hire a sound-a-like? Because it sure as heck sounded exactly like Ron Perlman to me. "War. War never changes" and everything...

It wasn't Pearlman I can promise you.
Daemus Nov 10, 2015 @ 5:02am
What makes you say that? It sure fooled me, and he definitely voiced the trailer as well (https://twitter.com/BethesdaStudios/status/606229042291961856?lang=en). So what makes you think it isn't? They hire him for the trailer and ditch him for the intro, how does that make any sense?
JustOnePepsi Nov 10, 2015 @ 5:05am
They hired him for the trailer, but Delaney narrates the intro sequence for the game itself.

I'm hoping they also got Perlman to at least play some character in the game beyond just the new reporter.
Mormacil Nov 10, 2015 @ 5:05am
Yes he voiced the trailer. Why only for the trailer? The trailer sells the game. Why also hire the expensive actor for intro as well?
Daemus Nov 10, 2015 @ 5:06am
So you're telling me this isn't Ron Perlman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J1t8DPPX3I ? What an... odd... choice.

That isn't Pearlman indeed, guy 'sounds' younger and smaller then Pearlman. Regardless though not Pearlman, he misses a certain low vibration at the end of his words.
Daemus Nov 10, 2015 @ 5:12am
Huh. I was completely fooled watching it today, but now that you mention it... :(

First time I heard the intro I was all 'THAT'S not Ron Perlman! :('
