PSA - Default FOV
Just a quick heads up. Your FOV starts at around 60, and there's no option to change it. Simply open the command prompt with ~ and type fov 90 or whatever number you prefer. Then save and restart the game just incase console commands interfere with achievments.

This should have been a STANDARD thing...

False, there's a guide that explains how to Change FoV. Sure it sucks that there is no Slider ingame.. i know Total Biscuit is going to rage over this lol.. but that's Bethesda.

Yep the OP is entirely wrong ouside of there being no fov options in game per se. Guide will explain it in detail. Just take your time and make sure you change everything and follow all the steps and you'll be fine. :)

go to both the games INI in Fallout 4 folder and also change it in Documents/My Games/ Fallout4/ Fallout4.INI and add fDefault1stPersonFOV=90 in the display area. also search fov in the ini folder and change all fov to 90. It works for me

You need to change it in three .ini's and if you want it to stick you need to make them read only. Next to change your view model fov us in game commands as per guide.

It seems weird they would go to multiple different measures to impose a low FOV on people. It's just like games of the previous generation where they ALWAYS had mouse smoothing on, and no option to turn it off, but they would always have a SPECIFIC thing in a .ini somewhere to turn it off.

I did everything but no matter what (saved in INI and all) nothing changes...

There is also a tweak menu on NMM but be carfull. i changed my FOV to 90, 110 and on some terminals though out the wastes glitch out and freeze your body making it so that you can only jump and look around on a head leveled swivel. This in turn requires you to have to revert to an old save....

Although this is an old discussion so they may have changed it in a patch. Nevermind

you can actually change both your Fov from your gun and from your surroundings. I believe it goes like FOV [distance from gun] [distance from surroundings]. i hate the closeness of everything but dont like how far away the gun is so i set it to FOV 80 120.

Also your default FOV is 80 not 60

Beginning of every new game: fov 90 90

...maybe one day I'll set that in the ini's, one day.

Definitely. It baffles me why devs want players to vomit when playing their game.
