Getting stuck in Pip Boy

Basically, at random intervals, I press tab to pull up the Pip Boy and when I try to exit nothing happens, I simply stay at the screen. Anyone else having this problem?

Keyboard is fine, tab key works outside of the game just fine.

I'm having a similar problem, it happened to me after I waited, tab simply does not want to work in game. Saving and exiting FO4 was the only way I was able to get it to work again. Next time I'll try reassigning the Pip Boy key.

It happened to me and I simply had to hit Shift. It's like my Shift key got stuck somehow (not physically) when using Shift-Tab to open the Steam overlay.

It's almost always shift, it happens in a lot of games. Although i thought i tried that one already. Thanks for the post. No need for the third times a charm :)

Just had a weird glitch where I pulled up my pipboy while walking in deep water in power armor. There was a slight headbob motion while in the Pipboy with the walking sounds playing. Nothing was getting me out of the pipboy. I tried tab, shift+tab, alt+tab, fast traveling, but nothing happened. What finally gotme through it was booting up a pipboy holotape, and exiting right after. Fixed me right up

This works everytime i'm stuck. Thanks and commenting to hopefully save someone else from reloading a save.

Hate to bump this thread but in case anyone else googles the same thing, they should know that none of these solutions worked for me. What did work, however, was plugging in my Xbox controller, which allowed me to exit easily. Then I switched back to keyboard+mouse.

I'm having a problem where I can't get the pip boy off the skeleton arm, I equip it every time but it keeps going back to the skeleton arm every time and I don't know what to do
