NPC just took my power armor.

Sully Mathis in an amazing show of dickery got into my suit of power armor and I don't know how to get him out of it, any ideas?

I had a wandering merchant hijack mine while I was scrapping materials to build up a settlement. First off, this is why quicksave is our best friend. Secondly, if the NPC is tied to one location (settlement, town, etc.), they might exit on their own after a day or so of in-game time. (Sadly, my stolen armor wandered off with the merchant.) Third, saw another thread where pickpocketing the fusion core while the NPC is wearing it causes them to exit... No battery, they can't use it.
Painful lesson learned for me, always take the fusion core out of the armor if you exit it to do something else.
