To be more specific, you have to go into the kids bedroom after the robot tells you to, then your spouse walks in behind you and shuts the door. Only after this can you leave the house. You'll know when it's time because everyone will be screaming "leave your house." lol
Thanks for trying to help, but we know that, OK? :)
I am talking about after the broadcast, and AFTER your character says "we have to get to the vault!!"
There are sirens going off, and the spouse and robot are just standing there, making worried comments whenever you talk to them.
There is no way to interact with either door, and nothing else to do in the house.
I loaded the most recent autosave, and it did the same thing.
Then I loaded the earliest autosave (right after I had chosen my character's appearance) and played through the whole thing again, and it worked.
After my character said, "we have to get to the vault," the front door opened by itself, and I was able to leave the house.
So yeah, this is clearly a bug affecting at least a handful of people. Thankfully, the fix is not TOO painful - just play through a few minutes again.
Too busy playing games.
(thankfully, the wife thinks it "keeps me out her way")
;)
