"Disk Write Error' - Resolved
So my fallout 4 decided it needed to update from 100% and then never complete updating, now I can't complete the download it keeps saying 'Disk Write error'

verified cache of game. Still does it. Anyone else having this problem?

No I am not out of space on my disk. I have over 600 gigs of available space.

Fix - Permission Error. went into downloading and removed any recent patch files, not folders, and reran steam as admin and it started working.

Delete some ♥♥♥♥ from your hard drive, yo. It needs more space to unpack.

I have over 600gigs of available space.

That isn't the problem.

Sounds like you ran out of disk space.

i got the same error

you need 2.5x the disk space to unpack (left over files are automatically erased)

I have the same problem... I have 400 GB left on my SSD. And when I check it for errors, it says there are no errors.

Same here plenty of space.

go to your steamapps folder where the games are
look in the common folder
find the Fallout 4 file right at the bottom
copy it to your desktop
now delete it from the common folder.
close steam then restart

that shuld fix it

(happened to me for blackops 3)

It was probably a snafu on Valve's servers - I got it as well. Just verify cache after it's done...

I just had this problem and having 200GB left, I just fixed it by going into the "downloading" folder and deleting a few files, also go into the "common" folder and delete the weird FO4 file in there, restart steam and it should work, remember to verify cache to be able to get those files back.

It says its done in over a year. So...not an option. Lol
Commander Hawke Nov 9, 2015 @ 9:23pm
If I remove it from the folder, won't I have to download the entire game again?
