Is strength pointless?
I see a lot if people with only 1 or 2 strength. Is it a waste to put points in it?

strength is good if you want to melee alot, if you don't wanna do that though...then yeah it'll be pointless to put points there

If you're not very into melee, I think many figure it's not worth it, because the starting SPECIAL points are so few?

Not to mention Strong Back (can run and fast travel while encumbered)

IIRC it also affects the damage you do with melee attachments on your guns

Uhh... If anything Fallout has MORE melee weapons that counts as unarmed in comparison.

Melee damage if you feel like going that route.
Don't forget you need at least 3 Strength to do Armor customization.
It's also good for carrying capacity, which given that literally everything does something now, everyone's gonna be even more packratty than usual.
And if your strength is high enough you can also get the perk that significantly ups your carry on top of that.

Admittidly if carry is all you want strength for, you can probably survive just having companions carry ♥♥♥♥ for you.

Too soon to really have a good grasp on meta.

It is much less interesting for someone who doesn't melee though - You can settle with just Strong Back.

I'm watching a stream where a lot of melee is going on. It seems pretty damn effective to me. The game was designed so most builds will work.

I think that a lot of people take points away from Strength because they want to increase other settings.
My personal settings for SPECIAL are:
S 3, P 4, E 3, C 6, I 6, A 3, L 3.
I'll see how far I can get with this. :)
