[TIP] Awesome sniper rifle location
Head to Mass Gravel & Sand just SE of Lexington. It's due east from the Corvega Assembly Plant. Once you get there you should see two big tanks and a conveyor belt. Climb the belt and the rifle will be a in a duffle bag near the top.

I'm not gonna spoil the surprise by posting the rifle specs so I'll leave it for you to find out on your own.

Have fun sniping raiders and ghouls.

nothing there for me besides a pipe gun and tears.

An easier 50 cal sniper that comes with a long light barrel, small night vision scope, large quick eject mag, and marksman's stock (very high level mods, all) is to go to Hardware Town.
I lies immediately SW (a block away) from Diamond Town, so if you can make it there, you got yourself a very nice sniper that you'll keep for quite a while just for offing 4 easy raiders. Look for the lit red door.

I'm using a pipe bolt sniper with .50 calibers atm (79 dmg).
It packs a punch and does more than a fully moded sniper rifle.

Ive got a gauss rifle fully modded and doing 349 damage, sadly on very hard it still doesnt always take things out in the first hit even with the sneak damage bonus.

If you spoil the exact location and guntype, why not the stats?

Just make a sniper out of the first weapon you find with "double damage to enemy's with full health" :) that plus sneak makes 4xx first shot damage xD

all world weapon spawns are generated depending on your level and a RNG the only ones that are not, are the ones that can be bought or quest rewards and even some of the quest rewards depend on your level

I only got a 10mm pistol at that location. However, very close by to that location (in Cambridge) there is a Hardened Sniper Rifle on the roof of the Red Rocket Garage.

Loot is random in this game. Even loot lying out on shelves and tables and such. This is the first game I know of to actually do that, so its understandable that people think that certain items are "always there".

For example, I was at a plane crash site that had a nuke sitting on a suitcase. I ended up reloading that game to a point right before I visited that plane crash, and went back there again. Instead of a nuke it was a small box of .38 rounds. O.o

The only exception are merchants that sell specific items with specific mods already attached.

If you want specific weapons as early as possible, you want to get the crafting skills as early as possible. You'll always be able to make better guns than anything you can find (except for legendary prefixes).

thats it

everything is based on level what you get from the .50 rifle or a pipe pistol
