Not that I know of but I feel you there, trying to build a right angled wall and it snaps to line it up with the other wall,

I hope they do let you disable it in a patch, I've noticed ( at least on PS4 ) settlements you can raise and lower the structure without looking up and down does anyone know how to do this on a mouse and keyboard?

Yep its strange why they wouldnt let you toggle snap.

To raise and lower structures, hold E and scroll up or down. That should work

You can disable snapping by holding down E and then scrolling down. But it doesn't help much because you can't place the wall down, unless you release E first, and then it just snaps back into something it itsn't supposed to. :p The building system in fallout is a disaster, hope they fix it. I don't think they really beta tested the whole building thing at all. It would be impossible for them to not see how bad it is. Haven't the developers played rust for example?

Hey there, I was having the same problem, so I did some research and found this video. It was uploaded a few days ago and I think it should solve your problem : )

Great video, thanks for linking that. Also, what's great is that you don't even need to do what he does in the video (ie. place it first then pick it up) - it's purely about looking at the ground. If you look at the ground when you go to place a new wall, the snapping will stop (you have to look right down though).

you can also stick a wood fence post at the end of the wall you already have placed

there is a way to disable snap altogether. just add

fWorkshopItemConnectPointQueryRadius=0.0000

under [Workshop] section in your Fallout4.ini file.

you can find all ini tweaks here http://www.modsfallout4.com/ini-tweak-compilation/
including how to do this via console command.

Cheers...

This whole topic is extremely outdated.

Use the mod called Place Everywhere.
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424

You can toggle item snap and floor snapping on and off. It is THE best building mod ever created.

Does this disable achievements for the game?

Yes, using mods disables achievements.

. . . until you install the "re-enable achievements" mod. :D

Link to this?
I would just install Buffout 4 (following all the isntructions) because it will give you crash logs and enable achivements.
